ROUND 10 Oulton Park

BSB Round 10 Oulton Park September 14th-16th

For round 10 of the British Superbikes, Jamie and the team headed to Oulton Park this was just 4 days after leaving Silverstone where the bike had been crashed twice.
Jamie would firstly like to thank everyone for all of the hard work that took place which ensured that his bike was repaired and everything was prepared for the weekend ahead, a special thanks to Mark Sadler at Go Racing Developments for going above and beyond - thank you.

Jamie had left Silverstone very battered and bruised due to the 2 unfortunate crashes and was unable to recover or heal any of his injuries. No one in the team actually realised the extent of Jamie's injuries until following the amount of pain Jamie was suffering in the first free practice session, he visited the medical centre at Oulton Park where he was advised that he was suffering with 2 cracked ribs and a bruised lung as well as his skin wounds, 6 stitches and numerous contusions.

Jamie battled through the free practice and qualifying session - unfortunately it began to rain half way through qualifying which meant Jamie was unable to complete a quicker lap on a wet track and he had struggled to get a clear lap in the early dry part of the session. Jamie qualified to start race 1 from P7 on the grid.

Jamie battled throughout the race and finished 7th Supersport in the sprint race.

Some changes were made to the bike going into warm up and the feature race.

The feature race on Sunday afternoon followed a morning of heavy rain so wet settings were put into the bike and Jamie took his place on the grid confident and determined with padding underneath his leathers to try to alleviate the pain from his cracked ribs, but, once again luck eluded Jamie and his bike developed a misfire causing him to have no choice but to pull into pit lane as the bike struggled. The fault was later identified as an electrical problem.

Quotes from Jamie:

"I am absolutely gutted not only for myself but for the team who worked so hard to get me to Round 10 at Oulton Park and my sponsors and supporters, you just could not plan for the bad luck and random issues that we seem to be plagued with but they are making us all even more determined I know I can run at the front and I will be back there"
