ROUND 6 Brands Hatch GP

There is so much preparation before a BSB round and this time was no different other than Jamie was also due a check up on his injured foot with his consultant, an x-ray revealed that out of the 6 broken bones 3 had completely healed, 2 were part healed and one bone had not healed at all. Jamie did feel positive though due to the pain having almost disappeared.

The forecast was set to be another scorcher and Jamie was feeling good, free practice 1 saw Jamie finish 4th fastest, unfortunately free practice 2 was wet therefore Jamie and the team chose to sit it out as the rest of the weekend was predicted to be dry.

Qualifying came and Jamie was between 2nd - 6th positions for the duration, ending up that he would start 6th on the grid for race 1.

Race 1 Jamie felt good and finished the race in P4, dicing for a podium position throughout. There were some changes made to the bike for warm up the following day with the aim of building on his result in race 2.

After what seemed like an innocent slide off in the morning's warm up, Jamie and the team got the bike ready for the race but unfortunately when he joined the grid the technical scrutineers pulled him off the grid due to marshals around the track having reported an issue with the bike, with only 4 minutes to go to the start of the race there was no time to solve the issue and make the start.

Quote from Jamie:

" Really disappointed as we made set up changes to give me more grip and I'm sure after watching the race I would of been able to stand on the podium again."

"Onwards and upwards to Thruxton in 10 days knowing that my injuries have just about healed - so I'll be podium chasing again!!!"
